Innovations
for good
The Hive is a physical place in Stockholm where we show our environmental innovations. But it is also a mobile exhibition, a digital idea hub where all employees’ ideas are taken care of, and a process for turning ideas into sustainable projects that can create real change.
Through the work in The Hive, our goal is – together with our customers & partners – to find solutions that reduce our common climate impact.
So far, we have had launched several projects:
• Digital workshops to reduce carbon dioxide
• Inauguration of our physical innovation exhibition in Stockholm with real cases.
• Training of staff and staff competition to find an accurate name
• The introduction of partnerships
• Launch of a digital idea platform to take advantage of ideas and solutions that will benefit our planet over the next 10 years.
• Launch of the mobile exhibition that will tour around the Nordic region.
The work to lower The Hive's carbon footprint
Since the start of The Hive the climate-smart construction of the exhibition, as well as all visits, has “costed” 22,000 kg of CO2. This is certainly not optimal, and we are therefore trying in every way to work to reduce our CO2 impact from the site itself. We have also compensated for the climate by supporting environmental projects in Chile and Brazil in collaboration with Go Climate (www.goclimate.com).
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again
To reduce our carbon dioxide impact until 2030, we are convinced that we must dare to try and try new things. In fact, this whole initiative is about testing oneself; test new ideas, test new angles on old ideas, test collaborative approaches between people and test new technology. We are convinced that innovation has an important role to play in solving the climate crisis.
VINCI Energies vs Young Innovators
We support the non-profit association Young Innovators, which develops young people’s creativity by allowing them to develop an idea; from idea to innovation. It will be practical and it will be concrete. The young people strengthen their creativity and ability to cooperate and thereby gain a more courageous attitude to problem solving. They develop themselves and others, and contribute to new ideas. Something that benefits everyone.
