THE CHALLENGE

Taking care of large water plants can be a difficult task. Swedish company Fortum encountered difficulty with the daily water treatment of their plants. The work often included time-consuming trips to and from the plant, limited monitoring options and much troubleshooting.

THE SOLUTION

A cloud-based and brand-independent solution called the Smart Water Divider, created by Actemium. Sensors are placed on the water pumps which then measure, troubleshoot and report activity in real time. Data is logged in a database that can easily be accessed on any connected mobile or stationary device.

THE GOOD EFFECT

The new monitoring system brought many benefits to Fortum. Improvements included: more time efficient monitoring, an increase in preventive work instead of malfunction handling, and more effective process control. Troubleshooting remotely is also more environmentally friendly as it eliminates physical travel.
